I Sit with the Salaf…

4 04 2008

It is reported from Nu’aym b. Hammâd:

‘Abdullah b. Al-Mubârak used to often stay at home, so he was asked, “Don’t you get lonely?” He replied, “How could I get lonely when I am with the Prophet – Allâh’s peace and blessings be upon him (i.e. I read his hadîth)?”

Also on the authority of Nu’aym b. Hammâd:

It was once said to ‘Abdullah b. Al-Mubârak, “O Abû ‘Abd Al-Rahmân, you often sit alone at home.” He said, “I am alone? I am with the Prophet - Allâh’s peace and blessings be upon him – and his Companions.” Meaning: reading hadîth.

Ibn ‘Asâkir, Târîkh Dimishq Vol. 32 p458.

Shaqîq b. Ibrâhîm reports:

It was once said to ‘Abdullah b. Al-Mubârak, “After you have prayed with us you don’t sit with us?” He replied, “I go and sit with the Sahâbah and the Tâbi’în.” We said, “And how can you sit with the Sahâbah and Tâbi’în (when they have all passed away)?” He replied, “I go and read the knowledge I have collected, I find their narrations and deeds. What would I do with you? You sit around backbiting people.”

Al-Dhahabî, Siyar A’lâm Al-Nubalâ` in his biography of ‘Abdullah b. Al-Mubârak.

It’s Thursday! Got a Grudge?

3 04 2008
Bismillah

Abu Hurayrah (radi Allahu anhu) narrated that the Messenger (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

The gates of Paradise will be opened on Monday and on Thursdays, and every servant [of Allah] who associates nothing with Allaah will be forgiven, except for the man who has a grudge against his brother. [About them] it will be said, ‘Delay these two until they are reconciled. Delay these two until they are reconciled. Delay these two until they are reconciled.’” (Reported by Muslim in al-Musnad as-Saheeh, #2565.)

It’s Thursday! Got a Grudge? Do Not Hold it…

Reconcile.

Hadith - Health and Free Time

25 02 2008

Abdullah bin Abbas (Radiallau Anhu) reports that Rasulullah said (صلى الله عليه وسلم) “There are two bounties of Allah wherein most people are deceived, health and free time”.

COMMENTARY

The value of health is only realized when one falls ill.

Take for example, relieving oneself. If a person is unable to use the bathroom for a day, what happens to this person? His whole life comes to an immediate halt and he looks for ways to relieve him. This one bounty of Allah we enjoy day in and day out but we do not even regard it to be a bounty.

Let us appreciate the bounty of health and use our health in the obedience of Allah Ta’ala.

Free time is another bounty of Allah Ta’ala. Consider those people who have to tirelessly work many shifts just to make ends meet. They also cherish free time but are forced just to support their families. Therefore appreciate the free time before you are forced to use it in other ways. A sign of appreciation is to dedicate some of the free time for the Ibaadah and service of Allah. The enjoyment one will earn by doing so can never be explained.

Allah states in a Hadith Qudsi “O! Son of Adam free yourself for my obedience and I will make you independent and remove your poverty, and if you will not do so, I will tire you with work and never remove your want and poverty”.

Let’s Try Being Kind, and Stop Being Ugly

10 11 2007

The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, said: Indeed gentleness does not enter into anything except it beautifies it, nor is it removed from anything except that it makes it ugly [Reported by Imam Muslim].

This video is for all those Islam haters out there, who keep wasting their time with their anti-Islamic videos… Please realise no matter what you say or do, it will never stop the True Muslims from Propogating the Truth of this life to the world and Believing:

La ilallah Ilallah, Muhammad dur Rasoolillah (None has the right to be worshipped, But Allah, and Muhammad is His Final Messenger).

Don’t sell yourself for the life of this world, wake up and realise the truth before it is too late..

“They rejoice in the life of this world. Yet the life of this world, compared to the hereafter, is only fleeting enjoyment.” [Qur'an, 13:26]

“Truly, the life of this world is nothing but a [quick passing] enjoyment, and verily, the Hereafter that is the home that will remain forever.” [Qur'an, 40:39]

Just take some time out and actually learn about Islam before you start hating it, if you accept Alhamdulillah (All praise be to God) and if you do not accept Alhamdulillah (All praise be to God).. but let us at least come to common grounds and uphold mutual respect…
